Animation can have a variety of different meanings, the most common vision when animation is mentioned, is movement on screen (Duffy. 2006). Taking this to a professional level, the likes of Wallace and Grommit come to mind.

However with my limited experience, I have looked at using pivot men, a basic stick style animation where you can use the frames to develop a short animation:

This is a fabulous resource where primary children of all abilities can make an animation, without the need for any additional specialised equipment.

In an attempt to further my experience, I attempted a basic animation, using a rubix cube. (Another animation was produced within a tutorial, but towards the end of the session, my wiki site went down, with the work lost)
